Three Kings Day!!?? What in the world - walking out of public school and into Catholic Teaching comes with its challenges. I attended public school in my up bringing, and while I know and believe in the doctrines of the church, these "little" days that I was not brought up celebrating throw me for a loop! I think I recovered pretty well after my initial balk at Epiphany - what in the world is that!! A little bit of time on Google, and I was up to speed and ready to rock my Kinders worlds.
So this week for Three Kings Day we made crowns, did some writing projects and hid a baby Jesus in a cake for the kids to find. Lucky for me that I stumbled on this incredible blog from a Catholic homeschool mom (she's incredible and has AMAZING ideas!- catholicicing.com
My only regret is that we got so wrapped up in focusing on the Epiphany that we never discussed New Years and goals! (I guess it's better late then never!) So next we'll have to do that fun!

Good Bye Boston - Hello Vegas!
So I've recently decided to throw the towel in on Boston. I think enjoying your hobbies is of great importance, and I'm not enjoying running again the clock - I just want to run free! I have a half marathon this weekend that I was dreading because I know that my times are just not where I need them to be, but with my new decision made - I can't wait to run under the bright lights of Vegas - at night! I'm working on making my sequin pants into bell bottoms, my sewing skills are not amazing, so we'll see how this goes! So happy to embrace my hobby at a level appropriate for me!

Eating Right Is The Real Deal!
Ate healthy all day yesterday - went from 141 to 137.5 this morning. I'm well aware that this isn't fat, but more like water retention yuck from too much salt. Also probably helped that I worked out last night - butt, legs and arms are TOTALLY SORE!! And yet, I totally LOVE IT!

The Goal
My current goal is to make it to the Boston Marathon in 2012. To qualify I have to run a qualifying marathon in 3:40. My current best marathon time is 5:14 - NOT GOOD!! So I have some serious time to shave. Thankfully my trainer Brian has confidence that he can get me there - and is even going to run it with me as my pacer!
Serious training for this starts on September 1st. Leading up to the September 1st date I have been weight lifting and trying to become more aware of what I eat. Basically that means no refined sugars - more fresh foods, and LOTS OF PROTEIN. Now begins the 6 day count down to a new challenge.
So this blog will follow my journey of psychotic runs, unavoidable vomit, injuries, and hilarious happenings. This is why I run and why I love the sport!!
